Spending too much money in York

Tuesday, 9 October 2018

Hi!

My ma and I are currently in York in our little holiday apartment with a rather special view.

Tiny Minster!

We've done enough shopping to last us a lifetime. I am... a bit skint now, to put it bluntly. It's about time I put the bank card away, let it rest, and enjoy my new purchases.

We arrived Sunday and moseyed around the York Designer Outlet and the Coppergate Shopping Centre for a few hours before the apartment was ready. At 4 we got cosy in our pyjamas, ate dinner, and settled down for Doctor Who.

Monday we spent half the day shopping but kept mostly to the Coney Street/Parliament Street area.

I picked up a pair of Reebok Classics from Office, the Rose Breton from Fat Face, Pretty Iconic by Sali Hughes (signed! Also half price in store!), The Skincare Bible by Dr Anjali Mahto, this t-shirt from the Morris & Co x H&M collection, the small Autumn Pearl candle jar from Yankee Candle, and a MAC Mineralize Blush in the shade Sweet Enough (discounted at The Cosmetics Company Store) among other things that have already been packed away ready to take home, so unpacking it tomorrow afternoon should be a treat.

I think I'm going to put a lot of the things I got on my Instagram Stories when I get home, so if you want to see that feel free to follow me @katebattlewind.

Today we continued shopping but ventured more towards Stonegate, Goodramgate, and The Shambles.

I picked up a lilac tote bag from the Cath Kidston sale (not online! pic here), a chenille jumper from Primark, this gorgeous striped blouse from H&M, the Hydro Boost Eye Awakening Gel by Neutrogena, and a cute Golden Snitch pin from The Shop That Must Not Be Named.

I also ordered a few toiletries/makeup bits online that I couldn't find in town or weren't in stock, such as the OGX Kukui Oil Shampoo, the Vichy Pureté Thermale Cleansing Foam, and the new Revolution Conceal & Define Supersize in the shade C1. Love all three a lot.

Once we got home we ordered GBK (never used Deliveroo before! Feels cool and futuristic) and had biscuits from Betty's for dessert. We're living the dream, and I don't want to go home and get back to reality.

Oh, there I am(!) posing as awkwardly as possible but wearing my slammin' new Fat Face breton and Reeboks.

We did have plans to go to Castle Howard but shopping is so tiring and we couldn't find the time or energy to go further afield. Maybe next time.

When I get paid on Monday it will officially be time to go Christmas shopping!!! Not given it any thought this year, I'm way behind schedule...

Kate
