Conkers & brogues

“Autumn is the mellower season, and what we lose in flowers we more than gain in fruits.”
― Samuel Butler

It's finally autumn and it feels good. I love waking up to golden sunrises and frost on the ground, and it's only September! I'm looking forward to autumn walks and taking my camera out with me to capture nature in all its rust-coloured glory.

My ma and I went conker hunting yesterday in the park near my work and we found the jackpot - a cluster of three giant horse chestnut trees that had dropped millions of perfectly shiny round conkers just for me.

Obviously took a huge bag home. Not sure what I plan to do with them yet. I just really like collecting them - last year we missed them and instead found a million chestnuts but chestnuts don't have the same magic about them. I was thinking of doing some sort of table centrepiece with a candle in a dish and having conkers around it. Or I might paint them... or I might just chuck them around the house and hope that it deters the spiders that are taking up residence in our house at the moment. I heard that's a myth, but whatever.

I recently took my new boots out that I bought from Sainsbury's. These are the perfect tan boots - they have pretty brogue detailing and a nice chunky and very comfortable sole. I wore mine with a H&M dress I bought in the summer in the sale, it is a wrap dress and has a V neck which my mum sewed a popper onto because it was too low for my liking (not a fan of cleavage).

I was so happy to finally wear something autumnal and not be boiling hot - my boots have been calling my name for weeks and my leggings and tights were practically gathering dust in my drawers.

I just love autumn a lot. It's the most perfect time of year in my opinion. Apart from the spider invasion, that's not ideal. Autumn fashion is my favourite and I get far too excited about layering, plus who doesn't love autumn colours?

Hope you guys have a wonderful weekend.
