Get to know me tag

Sunday, 4 February 2018

Hi! I found this interesting tag on Lots of Livres and decided to give it a go. Feel free to copy the questions (there's 30 in total) and answer them yourselves.

1. Explain your Twitter handle - katebattlewind
It's just my first name and my blog name, nothing too exciting. I would've loved to have gone with just 'battlewind' but it was taken.

2. Who inspires you and why?
Fellow bloggers inspire me, especially Sara, Olivia, Rosie, and Erin. And of course my beautiful and magnificent mum who is my everything.

3. Do you care what others think about you?
Not really. I used to when I was younger but now I couldn't give a monkey's.

4. What are you most looking forward to?
At the moment I'm most looking forward to staying in York for my birthday. My mum and I are spending two nights in the sweetest B&B and I can't wait.

5. What is one life rule you follow?
I aim to be kind to everyone because you never know what people are going through.

6. What's your dream job?
I wanted to be a film director for years (and I still do), but writing is my number one passion, so being an author would be pretty cool.

7. Which fictional character do you wish you could meet?
Sherlock Holmes.

8. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Everything under the sun I think, but I loved art all the way through primary and secondary school so I mostly wanted to be an artist.

9. If you were a cartoon character, who would you be?
I am Lisa Simpson through and through.

10. What skill would you like to master?
Writing! Painting! Basically anything and everything creative. Oh, and I'd love to speak fluent German or Spanish.

11. In what situation would you feel most out of place in?
On a stage, in a nightclub, or leading a group of people.

12. What artist do you really like, but rarely admit to liking?
I'm not embarrassed by my eclectic music taste so I would never be ashamed of liking a certain artist, what's the point? Music's music.

13. What gets you fired up?
Listening to power ballads and crazy guitar solos.

14. What annoys you the most about the fandoms you're part of?
I'm not part of any fandoms anymore... *has 2009 Tumblr flashbacks*

15. What do you do to get rid of stress?
Rant to my mum, go to bed, eat my favourite food, or have a bath.

16. You have to relive one day of your life forever. Which day do you choose?
Any day in which I'm in York with my mum. There have been many of them, and they've all been amazing.

17. How quickly do you jump to conclusions about people?
Hm... I try not to, but sometimes it happens.

18. If you were a doll, what accessories would you be sold with?
A MacBook, a cat, and a bag of Doritos.

19. What have you done in life that has given you the most satisfaction?
Not sure. Probably winning a nationwide competition as a kid, that was quite satisfying.

20. What would be the worst thing to put in a pi├▒ata?
Food: probably Liquorice Allsorts or anything peanut butter flavoured. Non-food: spiders. Or flying ants.

21. What's the biggest waste of money you've seen?
Seen? Or actually done? I spent £45 on a bottle of YSL foundation once and got about half way down the bottle before realising it had little-to-no coverage and I was basically using an expensive BB cream. At the time I had acne so it wasn't doing me many favours. Also people who buy Beautyblenders... £16 for one small sponge? You're having a laugh.

22. What common misconception do you hate to hear repeated as a fact?
Can't think of anything off the top of my head.

23. Where is the best place to go to meet awesome people?
College, work, the internet.

24. What food do you crave most?
Chocolate.

25. Which TV series do you keep coming back to and rewatching?
Call The Midwife, Rick and Morty, and Game of Thrones.

26. Among your friends, what are you best known for?
For bursting into dance at any given moment. I don't have a lot of shame. I like dancing and singing like an idiot to my colleagues and making them hate me a little more each day.

27. Who of your friends is most like you?
No-one's quite like me. ;-)

28. What was the most traumatising moment of your life?
Maybe being bit by a dog when I was about 13. I was walking past it in the street and it lunged for my thigh and wouldn't let go. The owners didn't seem to give a shit. I hated dogs for so long after that when really I should've hated the owners. I love dogs now so everything's good.

29. What's the best lesson you've learned from a work of fiction?
"Look like th' innocent flower, but be the serpent under 't."

30. What's something you'll never do again?
Eat cheesecake brownies. Read conspiracy theories at night. Go to university.
