Sunrises & skincare

Friday, 19 January 2018

Hi!

It's bloody freezing and I'm mildly annoyed about it. Cold is fine on its own, but when it's accompanied by icy wind I hate it. Icy wind is my nemesis.

On the other hand, winter brings us some cracking sunrises (and sunsets). I can just about look past the horrid wind when the sky looks like that at 8am. I'm really excited for spring to arrive - I miss waking up to the glorious sunshine in a morning. I also just miss it not being 2°C every day.

My Beauty Bay order arrived this morning. I've ordered some of The Ordinary Serum Foundation and a tube of Embryolisse's Lait-Crème Concentré moisturiser. I've tried foundation from The Ordinary before and didn't love it, but I reckon I had the Coverage Foundation and I found it a bit... blah, plus I think the shade was wrong, so I ordered the serum one this time. They're both quite similar in consistency but the serum foundation's had way better reviews so I figured I'd give it a go.

I've already tried and tested the Lait-Crème Concentré moisturiser and it is be-au-tiful. So luxurious and soft, I want a hundred more tubes of the stuff right now. It can also be a make-up primer and make-up remover which is interesting - will definitely try it as a primer.

I also purchased a bottle of Organic Surge Daily Care Refreshing Face Wash recently from LookFantastic. I've been on the hunt for a new face wash because although I love Liz Earle, her products are a bit pricey and I don't always have the funds for them, so I have been looking for cheaper alternatives that clean my face just as well. This face wash was highly recommended so I ordered it, and so far I love it. It's in between being a gel and a foam cleanser and it completely strips your make-up off with so little effort. It's also kind on the eyes so you can use it to take your mascara off. Oh, and it doesn't leave your face feeling tight and dry!

Apart from doing a stupid amount of internet shopping, I've been a busy bee at work and at home I've been working my way through the first two graphic novels from George R. R. Martin's 'Tales of Dunk and Egg' (I talked about it here briefly). They're fantastic stories and way more fun in the graphic novel format.

Hope you guys have a lovely weekend. I'll be spending it relaxing in my warm bed, reading, possibly blogging, watching a lot of YouTube, and playing my new favourite household on The Sims 4. Living the high life, I know.
